Barry Checkaway
University of Michigan
Dr. Checkaway is the director of the Edward Ginsberg Center for Community Service and Learning at the University of Michigan. His area of expertise is social work and urban planning. He has extensive experience in the theory and practice of strengthening student learning from community participation, involving faculty in research and teaching that develop diverse communities, and building university-community partnerships that contribute to the quality of life and enhance the educational experience.
