Frederique Apffel-Marglin
Smith College
Dr. Apffel-Marglin is a professor of anthropology at Smith College. She also serves as co-coordinator for the Center for Mutual Learning and has taught a community based learning course on political ecology at Smith for 3 years. She has worked with the Peruvian NGO PRATEC and the Bolivian NGO CAI PACHA since 1994. Her areas of expertise include environmental issues both locally and internationally and working with both native groups in the Andes and scholars and activists in India on regenerating local knowledge and practices.
