Request A Review

Policy Decision
Only institutions can request reviews.

The clearinghouses will send guidelines when the request for review is received.

The clearinghouses will encourage or recommend that feedback from review be shared with faculty.

Members of the Review Board are in the role of critics, reviewers, and evaluators.

Submission Decisions
The following content will be required for the review process:
university and departmental guidelines;
entire dossier with evidence.

Reviewers profiles will be used for selection of reviewers for each dossier -- information beyond disciplinary match will be considered (including methods, interests, type of institution).

Conflicts of interest may occur if the faculty to be reviewed and the reviewer are related or have collaborated professionally.

Review Process
The clearinghouses personnel will conduct an initial review of the dossiers before submitting them member of the review board. The purpose of the initial review is to eliminate dossiers that are not appropriate for further review.

In most cases, two reviewers will be assigned to each review. The primary reviewer will take the lead and after discussion with the secondary reviewer, she/he will write the evaluation.

Reviewers agree to complete review/evaluations within a four week period with advance notice.

The review feedback will be provided in mostly narrative form on a template of the criteria and with consideration of the institutional guidelines submitted with the dossier. Other forms of feedback may be negotiated with the institution requesting review.
